Short Films

The epicenter of a great film doesn’t always lie with a full length feature but at the heart of a memorable short film. Short films have mere seconds to have the audience fixated on the image, where it remains captured by what is seen and heard. Short Films are finally getting the recognition they deserve, causing the film community to take notice. They’re taking notice of short films like:

A Sample of Past Projects

The Kingdom

The Kingdom, is the inaugural short film by Fisher Films that was viewed by the National Fine Arts Festival in Orlando, Florida in 2009. A young man, Stephen Fisher and a woman Mrs. Scoma may have passed each other a thousand times on the busy, downtown street. In fact, he knows he has passed her, but never would he take the chance to even glimpse at her. Until today. He senses her gaze as he passes by. He looks at her and she stares right back. Words are not needed for The Kingdom, it is told in a completely cinematically visual style. Fisher Films did win the National Award of Merit at the National Fine Arts Festival in Orlando. Watch The Kingdom and see why the eyes have it.

Remember No Thinking

With the success of THE KINGDOM, Stephen Fisher and Mrs. Scoma were recast in 2012 for, Remember No Thinking, a short film shot for the Expecting Goodness Film Festival in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Stephen plays, a young man who feels the weight of the world on his shoulders as he tries to balance school, family, girlfriend, soccer, graduation, and choosing the right college to attend in the fall. When he thought the weight couldn’t get any heavier, his soccer team makes the state playoffs. Watch REMEMBER NO THINKING to find out how Stephen faces life’s challenges and how this short film received the coveted prize of BEST FILM FOR NEW FILMMAKERS AWARD.

The Window

When told not to do something, human instinct disrupts common sense. Over a period of time, most end up doing exactly what was told not to do. That’s the premise of Fisher Film’s newest short film, THE WINDOW. A suspenseful story by Colin Williams, about a father having to leave his only son Jacen, alone in the house while he seeks help for he and his boy. After much reassurance, Jacen is reminded not to open the door, of course, until his father gets home, and never, under any circumstances is he to look out the window. None. Watch, THE WINDOW, to see what’s outside.
